Last time I checked, we lived in a country where it is "OK" for reporters to asks leaders questions.


Raul doesn't live in such a place--and he didn't want to be questioned, and more to the point, he didn't want to be SEEN being questioned by some woman! He's El Presidente, after all...and Old Habits Die Hard.

And I think his side needs to be heard. The noise in the media favors the USA about 1000 to 1 in regards to Cuba. They do have right on their side in certain areas - especially the abuse committed by the USA since the 19th century, what's happening in Guantanamo, and reams of hipocrisy regarding "Human Rights" while the Embargo has meant suffering for the Cubans for over 50 years.

It's why he kept talking down to her with the repeated use of "Andrea" - hyper pronounced.

If we weren't at a delicate stage here, I'd not have minded if she'd replied with ¿Sí, Raul? in reply every time he said her name. He was in total Snark mode--not happy at all.

His successor will have to take a different tack.
