Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Monday charged that CNN was fueling violence at Donald Trump’s rallies by spending too much time reporting on violent incidents at his campaign events.

“But look, we’re not a party that believes in violence,” Priebus opined. “I think violence begets violence. And I think you’ve got to leave some of the work in the crowd up to the professionals.”

“Shouldn’t we focus on that if there’s violence at campaign events?” Camerota pressed.

“Mentioning it is fine,” Priebus replied. “I’m questioning the 24/7 loop. ... "
"Granted, both sides have to disavow violence,” he added. “But I do think the media is obsessed to the point of it being very noticeable and almost bizarre.”

“I think a lot of it is anarchy, but I think more importantly this is organized chaos,” Pierson explained. “They are trying to create a public perception of violence to scare people away from supporting Mr. Trump.”

Pierson argued that conservatism had been “absent in the community” since Ronald Reagan left office, giving rise to the “militant left in this political [sic] correct society where it’s okay for them to use violence as an intimidation tactic or just yell ‘racist’ or ‘Hitler’ to smear someone’s character.”

(Because George Bush and George W. Bush never happened. And accusing a politician on a regular basis of being a racist or a tyrant or a terrorist-supporter or an America-hater or the Anti-Christ himself is totally something that has never occured to conservatives.)
