(15,224 posts)I know I'm stating the obvious, but I'm constantly (and genuinely) simply AMAZED at actually how stupid his followers seem to be. Many of them are friends and family, and they cannot put together even ONE true explanation of just how Trump is going to do any of the things that he promises.
They like him, well, just because he's Trump!!! Those around them are being asked to accept that as an actual understanding.
That's a sad, sad commentary on the educational system of this country because these people were not taught how to think, much less think for themselves.

(15,224 posts)Would also add that in some states like my own, it is also the result of some rich Republicans either manipulating the curriculum in the public school system and/or providing "vouchers" for students to attend charter schools that indoctrinate the Republican hate.
I've just been in a discussion with a young person this morning because she commented on a Facebook post of mine. She is a Trump supporter. I'm in my late fifties; she's probably in her twenties. She cannot write a complete sentence, cannot remember to use "an" instead of "a" in front of a word that begins with a vowel, and cannot make a sound argument. She has not been taught critical thinking and communication.
She hates anyone who isn't just like her. We all know that her hate actually stems from fear. That's not all that hard to see. It's very sad. It really and truly is.

even though he has about a 1% truthfulness rating.
Reminds me of Al Franken on Air America. Al had a dittohead friend that would be on with him once a week, and Al would attempt to debunk whatever was on Rush Limbaugh that week, which he normally did pretty easily. Finally, after months of this, Al's Dittohead friend admitted that Rush rarely uses the truth and facts, but he listened to Rush because he liked his attitude. Seems like it is the same with Trump - he's the hate radio host running for president. His fans don't care that he's careless with the truth - they just like his tough guy attitude.
