Was disrupting Donald Trump's rally the first ever example of a countercounterproductive strategy?

A thought that I find amusing: the disruption of Donald Trump's rally by "liberal" protestors may be an example of the rare countercounterproductive strategy.

I guess that

1) Being able to point at his rallies being disrupted will probably help Donald Trump more than it hurts him.
2) Donald Trump will be the easiest of the Republicans to beat.

So by engaging in an inept attempt to harm an enemy they overestimate, the protestors may actually be successfully advancing their own cause, albeit for reasons completely at odds with the ones they think.

One could even make a case for countercountercounterproductive in some cases - the person most likely to benefit from this is Clinton, not Sanders, and an appreciable fraction of Sanders supporters have made it clear that they don't want her to win.

He's been placing the blame on "radical leftists" and Bernie supporters for a long stretch*. It's a predictable deflection, not sure of the effect.
