Ted Cruz was born in Canada, Birthers accused Obama of being born in Kenya...

Why is It "settled law" that Cruz is a natural born citizen and eligible for the presidency when according to the Birthers Obama was ineligible to be president because of his Kenyan birth. I know that he was born in Hawaii, but even if we stipulate he was born in Kenya, why is Cruz' Canadian birth a non issue for most people? I don't get it.

There were some Republicans who even wanted the 'natural born' requirement to be removed when Schwarzenegger was governor of California, hoping he might run for President some day.

No doubt if Cruz were a Democrat, then Republicans would try to use his Cuban background against him, e.g. that maybe his father is really an agent of Fidel Castro.
