"Every election is a discrete event," Sabato says. I made a similar point yesterday, when I noted that "Walker is not Romney and his opponent is not Obama."

whore media are promoting this. They need the drama for their ratings. Also, anything to hurt Obama and the Democrats in general is good.

but it seems to me that one election CAN show general inclinations of the public in another election. And one election could surely show whether or not particular mechanisms/approaches are or are not successful.
