How does this end?

Thousands of people are following a "charismatic leader," lathered up into a fury, hating their fellow citizens, willing to shred fundamental American principles. How does it end?

Because it seems to me it's heading toward a catastrophic event, and nothing less would make these people calm down.

This isn't "We have fundamental disagreements about the role of government." This is "US" vs. "THEM," "The enemy within," the rhetoric of totalitarian dictators who've destroyed nations and people.

And it's loaded with "tough talk," racism and incitements to violence.

How does America rebalance after this?

How does this end?!?

I'm afraid the seething was only the start, and I can't imagine what water would put out this fire.

I can only HOPE that it's a relatively small number of people who are this dangerously fanatical, and that their gullibility means their minds can be changed.

And will the new balance point be anywhere that we would find at all desirable?

And that will justify a very "tough" authoritarian leader (H. Clinton) to crack down and eliminate more of our rights. It will be justified (just like the fucking Patriot Act) as being for our best interest but it will be for the best interest of the Ruling Class at our expense.

The goal of the Ruling Class is to increase their wealth at the expense of the lower classes.

How do decent Democrats justify siding with the Ruling Class and turning their backs on the 16,000,000 American children living in poverty? It's a rhetorical question because the answer is obvious. They want wealth, wealth and more wealth. The Clintons have amassed about $150,000,000 in abt 15 years. That's $10 million a year. They love the current culture that has the Ruling Class looting the lower classes.

And they didn't just suddenly appear out of nowhere. These are our citizens, as they were, as they are, as they will undoubtedly be tomorrow.

And we've already gone down the road of Fascism and departure from rule of law. This is just a little more raw look at it, with less PR.

and do major damage to the GOP in the process. I don't think he will be allowed to become president. Several things can happen to prevent it. As far as the mass of nutjobs he has stirred up, I don't know. I think most of them will whine and go about their day, but some of them will do something stupid.

I really don't know where we go from here. I believe with all my heart that the presidency of Barack Obama was a reprieve after BushCheney, but only a reprieve, and not the great salvation. And what did we do with that? Sent the man a majority GOP Congress and criticized every breath he took.

Now the great divide in the US is even more stark than it was before. Trump is running to be Il Duce and Cruz thinks he's Savonarola. What if we Dems pull it off again this November and get another reprieve? It will still only be a reprieve...

...is in deep, deep trouble. In the last two days we have learned that Hillary ran a shadow foreign policy that was hidden from Obama himself. She was advised on that policy by Sydney Blumenthal, who had been banned from the State Department by Obama, and her communications with him were covert. It's a mess. We are afloat, without a life preserver.
