Second white-on-black assault caught on video from horrifying Trump rally in North Carolina

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/03/second-white-on-black-assault-caught-on-video-from-horrifying-trump-rally-in-north-carolina/

(snip)

The video shows people being detained, cuffed and led out, with one woman screaming, “Get the f*ck off me!”

As the officers are cuffing people, Trump can be heard continuing to speak in the background, until the crowd notices and starts jeering.

At the end of the video, a white man says to him, ‘Hey, f*ck you, baby, f*ck you!” and slaps him.

Adeniyi said the moment caused him to lose faith in the future of America.

“The man at the end of the video is a moment I’ll never forget,” he said. “The hate in his eyes. The words. The hate in those words. The slap. It was disgusting and sad. At that moment I believed that America will stay and continue to be a hateful and bigoted country.”

a nation with bigots in it. Hopefully only a minority of bigots, but even one is too many.

I hadn't really written anything about it, but I went to vote early in affluent Cary (outside of Raleigh) NC. The fat white elderly couple behind me started complaining about having to produce a voter ID because if they were "illegal" they wouldn't have to have one. And I said, loudly enough for everyone standing in line to hear, yeah, it's a shame that the voter ID laws are seriously disenfranchising minorities. And she wanted to get into it . . . "yeah, those minority voters. They've got to have an ID at the doctor but they can't have one to vote."

I would have said more, but I was let in by the poll worker at that point.

The woman was SO angry and loud. And what struck me was, this is someone that Trump would spit on. Appearance shouldn't matter, but here was this woman who's utterly invisible in the sexually objectifying world of Trump (et al) patriarchy, endorsing his (and Ted Cruz') hate.

It was weird and seemed to come out of nowhere. I grew up in the South and am descended from slaveowners on one hand and lower class lynchers and sheriffs on the other, so I know white racism.

This had a different flavor. It's a more visible hate, because it's looking for a more amorphous set of descriptors of people to blame. They just hate and see things falling apart and cannot imagine that it might have more complex causes, so they're searching around for someone to blame.

Longer term American racism was built on assumptions of superiority and maintaining a status quo. Trump supporters today long ago lost the status quo and have only now realized the enormity of it, and they're working overtime to suppress the truth. No more or less evil, I suppose, but different.

important to witness such outrages in order to come to grips with where we are as a society, but I'm stunned and sickened to see all the hate and bigotry coming right out in the open. There was a time when this kind of behavior was considered so shameful that it was hidden from public view.

WTH?

...and RW websites has allowed the bigotry to bubble to the surface and become 'acceptable' ( in their eyes). This has also led to an increase in violence.

It's time we start calling these rallies by their correct name, White Supremacist Rallies.

Trump is most definitely a White Supremacist.

8. Trump incited these attacks.

I watched the video of his speech in real time. I'm in NC. He incited attacks on protesters by singling them out with utter contempt in his words and expressions. It's not at all surprising that some people in the audience responded by standing up and punching the protesters.

I've been ridiculed on DU for mentioning that this behavior is an early stage of genocide. Apparently some people think that is hilariously over the top. It isn't.
