Speaker Paul Ryan Phones Donald Trump and Ted Cruz to Discuss 'Bold Conservative' Agenda

Less than a week after House Speaker Paul Ryan went after Republican front-runner Donald Trump for failing to disavow David Duke and the KKK, the former vice presidential nominee has spoken over the phone with the controversial candidate about developing a Republican agenda.

And in addition to Trump, Ryan, R-Wis., has also spoken to Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, "to explain House Republicans' plan to present a bold conservative policy agenda this year," the speaker's press secretary, AshLee Strong, told NBC News Monday.

Speaker Ryan also plans to have similar calls with Republican presidential candidates Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich, she said.

The push to develop an agenda that the eventual Republican nominee can embrace has been a focus of Ryan's short tenure as speaker.

The agenda: STFU about economic populism...especially trade. Wrap yet more supply-side/trickle down BS in god/guns/flag/bigotry veneer to try to ram through status quo just one more time.

Yeah! That's the ticket!

Tax cuts for the 1%, eliminate all those pesky government regulations, social security and medicare "reform", i.e. cuts, and repeal the Affordable Care Act, that certainly is bold.

see, they'll sell it like they always do..."you're all getting a tax-cut", which in reality means that an average Joe gets about $250 a year while all of his services and safety net is either eliminated or declines...or costs much more, and someone like Dick Cheney gets a $700,000.00 a year tax-cut...see...it's fair

Then the rubes making $35-$40K a year who vote for these asshats can tell themselves..."oh boy! I can't wait until I'm a billionaire, because then I'll have really, really low taxes". "When I make my billions, I don't want the 'gubmint' to take half of it!"

It really is a beautiful game they've put together.

They convince voters who make $35-$40K a year with no benefits and no pension, that their "real" enemy is their fellow Americans who make $38-$45K a year with decent benefits and a modest pension.

Hey, it's worked for the past 30 years. Just throw in how it's the "undeserving" folks living in the "lap of luxury" on $180 a month in Food Stamps that are preventing them from achieving the American Dream, sprinkle it with racism and misogyny, and you can win control of 75% of the State Governments and all three branches at the Federal level.

They've yet to pay a price for this game plan. I guess because too many folks who should give a fuck actually get out and vote stay home, or because some Dem candidate isn't "everything to everyone".

Lather, rinse, repeat.

1. Reduce the deficit with Tax Cuts!
2. Repeal the ACA and replace it with Fuck Off And Die.
3. More Gunz.
4. End the horrible burden of regulation - eliminate the EPA.
5. Strengthen social security by raising the retirement age to 70.
6. Strengthen Medicare by means testing it and making anyone on it who isn't currently starving to death pay more for the program.
7. Start a lot of wars. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea all look good.
8. Limit abortions to one clinic in Gnome Alaska with a mandatory 25 week waiting period.
9. All businesses must be free to practice their religious bigotry.
10. All Muslims and Mexicans must be dealt with but not like Trump says, some other way.

...Paul Ryan is sucking my d%#k (I'm blindfolded, on heavy drugs, and fantasizing about Barbara Eden - I'm an ancient motherfucker, OK!), and I'm explaining the finer points of democratic socialism to his obedient ass!

Between gasps and slurps he says, 'yes, it's all so clear to me now!'

When he was drafted into the speaker’s chair four months ago, Ryan acknowledged the job would be difficult. But, thanks to Trump, it has become much worse than that. He has come to embody the party establishment’s existential conflict: deeply wary of Trump’s divisive antics but reluctant to reject him entirely. House conservatives, meanwhile, are making it all but impossible for Ryan to strike a GOP consensus on spending, setting the stage for the same type of contentious year-end budget negotiations that bedeviled his predecessor, John A. Boehner.

“Paul Ryan, I don’t know him well, but I’m sure I’m going to get along great with him,” Trump said Tuesday. “And if I don’t, he’s going to have to pay a big price, okay?”

But well-laid plans for the year ahead are hanging by a thread. He has been locked for weeks now in a standoff with hard-liners who want to back out of the bipartisan spending agreement Boehner struck last year. That deal includes $30 billion in new spending and was supposed to set up a drama-free budget process ahead of the election in November.

Ryan appointed five task forces last month to develop detailed policy agendas on such issues as national security, health care and federal regulations. But on numerous ideas close to Ryan’s heart — free trade, immigration reform, tax reform, entitlement cuts — Trump holds conflicting, if not opposing views.

Since Ryan and Trump agree on very little - maybe repealing Obamacare - this should be an interesting "bold conservative agenda".

How long before he gives a public address and refers to Paul Ryan as Little Paul, Eddie Munster or some other term of endearment? A Trump presidency might almost be worth it for the comedy. (No, I'm not serious.)
