The youngest of the 25 people indicted after the takeover of the Oregon wildlife refuge lives on the Tulalip Reservation with his girlfriend and infant. They were planning to marry, then he would join the Army. But he was arrested instead. Their lives have gone haywire.
TULALIP RESERVATION It was about 10 in the morning when law-enforcement vehicles pulled up to the modest home where Eric Lee Flores, his girlfriend and their 6-month-old baby daughter were staying.
There were three to five cars, at least one tribal police vehicle, and maybe three unmarked cars with FBI agents. Its hard to keep an exact count when things heat up.
Flores monthlong adventure into the world of self-described patriots had come to a discomfiting end on Feb. 11.
Eric Lee Flores was indicted in the armed takeover of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

(17,204 posts)Funny how the Federal government frowns on armed insurrection against the Federal government. Funny, too, that if he had been an Afghan in armed insurrection in Afghanistan, he'd probably have eaten a Tomahawk missile.

(90 posts)Not so much the guy pointing guns at federal officers. Dude's probably going to jail, and the demand for soldiers isn't high enough for a judge to give a guy accused of pointing guns at police a shot in the army...

(39,215 posts)there? The Mormon Church is known to haunt the reservations because Native Americans are part of their belief in the 12 Lost Tribes of Israel.
A lot of our people get hooked up in their schemes.

(17,204 posts)Eight, maybe. How sophisticated does one need to be to understand that taking up arms against a government is a bad idea ?
