The $64,000 Answer

At the last Republican, cod-slinging debate, the candidates were asked if they would support Donald J. Trump if he were the nominee? Without reservation, they all said "yes".

After all their comments about how disgusting, how incompetent, how vulgar, how dangerous he would be as the President, they still could not bring themselves to say "no, they could not vote for him".

Is there even a shred of doubt that if these candidates were living in Germany in the 1930's, they might have disagreed with the ideas of der Fuhrer, but they would support him anyway if the people voted for him? Would even one of them have had the courage to not support Adolf Hitler?

I think they have put the question on the table.

and I have been pondering the idea since the "debate".

The question is certainly on the table from the aspect you pointed out but also with the Noes. racists etc endorsing him and he not able to reflexively disavow.

They did all sign that pledge about party loyalty to keep drumpf from bolting and going "I" and they can't afford to openly violate that agreement. The nondrumpfs are also praying that drumpf will also feel somewhat compelled to abide by that agreement... for now. They could also be okay admitting this because they feel that there will be a D in the whitehouse next so it doesn't really matter. Even if they lose, as a party, at all levels down ticket these guys are auditioning for any political tool position they can get when the dust settles. And then again, they are all hoping to find themselves "the chosen one" by the end of the convention.

Better make some more popcorn.

None of the goons seeking the republican nomination have a shred of compassion, decency or concern for the betterment of the USA. They only seek to obtain power to enrich themselves and their oligarch associates.
