Will Drumpf be suing the BBC now? Why the hell aren't US media outlets doing this kind of digging?
Can Donald Trump ever claim to be '100% clean'
At the end of a seismic week for the Republicans, Donald Trump now looks the most likely contender to be the party's candidate for the next president of the United States.
Among his big boasts is that he is a modern-day Midas, worth billions of dollars, and that his wealth means that he cannot be bought and sold - and that puts him above the political fray.
But is that the whole picture? Newsnight's John Sweeney reports.

(9,118 posts)Too blamed true. The Clinton years and Buckaroo Bush's two terms in office taught me that the corporate lame-stream media has miserably failed to fulfil the role that the Founding Fathers had envisioned for a free press in our republic.
I have come to believe that if it wasn't for the voices on the net, the de facto Oligarchy would have a solid, un-breakable lock on the news.
I may seem cool and rational while I type this on an I-phone, but I am angry, very angry, about the state of broadcast media in the US. We SHOULDN'T have to rely on foreigners to bring out this news.

You're assuming Republican voters act rationally. They're going to vote for this guy no matter what.

I think theyd actually be happier with a more electable Republican like Kasich. And they wouldnt figure out how dumb that is until after he beat the Democrat in the election. kek

This is a real test of stupid American sheeple:
Now that he's getting trashed 247, can they follow the trasher's lead as easily as they followed him?

(12,597 posts)The Republican Party did not take him seriously, therefore he was not a threat. NOW they are taking him seriously, but it might be too late.
My understanding Trump is putting out feelers about having his General Election funded by others. So, it stands to reason that he would turn to the mob as he has done in the past. He would not only be bought and paid for like other candidates, but even worse by letting gangsters take part in his decision making.
The boast about self-funding is ONLY about the primaries. This fact needs to be broadcast far and wide. One of his attractions is he says he will owe nobody and therefore do what he wants. I think this one fact would go a long way toward his undoing - instead of Romney type people who are just the same as he is giving pep-talks.

There is no better Republican nominee for the Democrats since Herbert Hoover.
Let the damn republicans nominate him first, then release this stuff!

(14,061 posts)Les Moonves, executive chairman and CEO of CBS, made the comments during a speech at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference in San Francisco, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I've never seen anything like this, and this going to be a very good year for us," he said at the event. "Sorry. It's a terrible thing to say. But, bring it on, Donald. Keep going."
Is the Fourth Estate officially dead in this country yet? I'm sorry, Les, but your entertainment division should take a backseat to your news division. Especially now. Short-sighted, greedy "business decisions" all over the media are killing off the republic just as fast as Der Trumpenfuhrer is.
