The great tennis historian and journalist Bud Collins is dead

He was 86. He was a decent man - a really nice man. He had a lot of good things to say about the Williams sisters when all about him were attacking them - long before they were great.

But he was still a fixture of my youth.

I have fond memories of watching "Breakfast at Wimbledon" with Collins describing the scene in his one-of-a-kind way.
