We have heard it repeated over and over from CNN and MSNBC and others, there is a supposed "gap" in enthusiasm in Democratic voters; based purportedly on the election turnouts.
I humbly submit it is because we have two candidates that are crazy awesome.
Most of my friends who identify as Dems, progressives or liberals all agree they will be happy as hell to campaign and vote for either candidate in the general and I feel that way too. I really do want Hillary, BUT, I would fight like hell on Bernie's behalf as well.
If you don't feel (as roughly half of the Republicans do) like your party is being taken over by an Oompa-Loompa from Mars, you may be slightly less worried about showing up for the primary.
MAKE NO MISTAKE, media, we WILL be there for the big show.
To the Republican party - The monster you created, he will kill you. All we need do is vote - and watch. (maybe laugh a little, I saved some champagne)

(28,342 posts)or anything of the like if Bernie is the nominee. I love Bernie. My friends and family who feel the Bern have also said they will be happy enough with Hillary as well.
Fewer Democrats are showing up at the primaries because we are content and we don't hate each other. It's going to be fine.

(50,302 posts)People who are excited and interested and give a damn - like 2008 - get counted in the primaries. The turnout for Democrats so far is embarrassing and indicates a "midterm election" type of turnout in the general election.

(31 posts)As an outside observer (from the UK), I certainly hope there's no lack of enthusiasm in Democratic ranks this year of all years. To put it lightly, the world could do without Trump or Cruz in the White House. There's certainly plenty of robust discussion on display here, at least!
