Trump pinatas becoming hot items in Albuquerque, Santa Fe
Jose Carlos Andre, manager of the Santa Fe Mexican butcher shop El Paisano, told the Santa Fe New Mexican (http://goo.gl/Y3Yn7v) after word went out that the store had Trump pinatas, whites even started coming into the store to buy them. They had been popular with mainly Mexican immigrants until recently, he said.
"Funny enough, he is bringing us business," said Andre, 26.
Dulceria Puebla in Albuquerque also is selling the Trump pinatas and workers there say they go quickly.
Trump pinatas became hot items in U.S. cities with large Latino populations after Trump made comments about Mexican immigrants.
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," Trump, now a leading Republican candidate, said last summer. "They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
