Cop Slugs Mom Repeatedly In Face In Front Of Kids For Calling Dept. To Complain

http://www.copblock.org/142689/cop-slugs-mom-repeatedly-in-face/

Video has surfaced showing a California woman being brutally arrested during a traffic stop after an alleged seat-belt violation by Carlsbad police....

Hahn – whose father is a cop – says she asked officer Kenyatte Valentine why police weren’t turning off the cars alarm. The officer reportedly responded by telling the woman to mind her “own fucking business.”

Outraged at the officers behavior, Hahn says she told a man nearby what the cop had said and together they decided to start recording the scene – a move Valentine expressed his discontent for as he continued to curse at her....

That’s when cellphone footage recorded from the scene shows Valentine repeatedly punch Hahn in the face in front of her young children as she and bystanders scream in terror.

They were protecting themselves I guess. When does shame come into play? What do the neighbors of the punching officer think of him now?

When I see shit like this, it is very hard for me to not want to have a violent reaction.

We need massive reform and a total restructuring. We can begin with the following...

1. Get Rid of the Police Unions. We all know how these unions act, and from a Democratic and Liberal perspective they always support Republicans anyway. So go Scott Walker on their asses.

2. End immunity and indemnification. Cops have to play by the same rules as everyone else. No special treatment. Beat someone up? Get charged with assault, and they can go after you personally for it. That will curb shit right there, when a lawsuit puts your personal home at risk.

3. Improve psychological screening, both before and after hiring. We all know who are attracted to this type of career: individuals who possess authoritarian, unempathetic, domineering, and thrill seeking qualities. Ax these fuckers from the force.

4. End police militarization. Barney Fife these mother fuckers. They aren't soldiers, they are fucking law enforcement, a bare step above meter maid on the pecking order. They aren't John Wayne, they aren't heroes, they are glorified mall cops with a bit more authority and range of operation.

5. No more internal investigations. Every state must have a special law enforcement investigation unit that investigate local and state law enforcement, and special prosecutors assigned to that unit to prosecute police misconduct. Prosecutions and investigations are never handled at the local level. The entire process is overseen by the United States Justice Department.

6. Target those who cover up for their friends. Blue bloods notoriously stick together. That's fine. The new law should be birds of a feather that flock together also hang together. If you know about misconduct going on and do not report it immediately, you are guilty of cover up and conspiracy.

This would be a start to the reforms.

Unfortunately I see a lot of teacher bashing.

Also, unfortunately, I will never advocate for getting rid of any union. I will advocate for improvement. I think we can both agree there is a lot of room for improvement in police unions.

...Police Unions exist to protect criminal cops and they support Republicans. I would be more empathetic toward Police Unions if they actually supported Democrats and Liberal causes, then one might assume that we could reason with them and come to some common ground. However, not only do they protect criminal cops, they crawl into the bed with our enemy? Not acceptable.

Here is an Atlantic article, where Conor Friedersdorf discusses the problem. He presents numerous cases where the Unions have helped killer and criminal cops get put back on the force AFTER being fired for their conduct.

There is no mistaking the fact that Police Unions are our enemy, we need look no further than their constant support of Republicans. It is one of the few Unions Scott Walker actually supported in Wisconsin. (Gee, wonder why?)

From the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel:

Almost all other state worker unions had their bargaining authority stripped under Walker's signature legislation known as 2011 Act 10 and then had their members' take-home pay reduced by roughly 10% because of cuts to health care and pension benefits.

The State Patrol union was spared both of those blows and still negotiated a roughly 17% pay increase for its members in a contract with the Walker administration.

It's time to figure out who your enemies are, learn how they play the game, and either play to win or get off the field.

And wanted the children to learn a rather brutal lesson at a young age about police officers and the militaristic nation we live in. The stupid shit cops do. Probably and endless story. But hey, I already smell some time off with pay.

I'm starting to think that we need to all have some kind of video recording device with us at all times, we never know when we might run into "officers" like that. Despicable. Beyond despicable. Those cops are fucking assholes.

Example: The Plain Dealer endorsed the guy who let Tamir Rice's murderers walk, Timothy McGinty, as Cuyahoga County Prosecutor today.

Oh, and also defended McGinty's decision for letting Tamir's murderers walk.

As long as nutjobs see that police can get away with murder over 90% of the time knowing that half of the population will find some way to blame the victims of the murder no matter how young they are, then you'll have nothing but nutjobs apply to be cops.
