4. I was surprised I didn't get a reaction

from one of my FB friends. I guess he is still mulling over my saying "Americans are pig ignorant when it comes to history" after he posted a stupid "these were socialists" imposed on a picture of Nazis. He posted something last week saying the same this (with Sanders head on someone wearing an SS uniform). I let it slide last week, but doing it again I could not allow it to stand.

5. I've found the best way to deal with that kind of thing is to invite them to explain their position.

Let them vent all they want, then show them good solid sourced evidence that runs counter to their concerns... and do so in a way that is non confrontative. I've won over 5 conservatives to Bernie's side doing exactly that. I think most people just want someone to listen to them and their concerns... then take the time to address them, one at a time, without the usual political hostility that tends to exist in political discussions. Everyone wants to be treated like a human being with issues that matter. YMMV
