Malheur Occupier Banta Released From Detention

A federal judge ordered a former occupier at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge be released from detention Friday ... despite a request from federal prosecutors that he continue to be held in jail until his case goes to trial.
Judge Beckerman asked prosecutors if Banta had a criminal history or if he had made any direct threats to law enforcement in which prosecutors said Banta did not.
