Chris Christie tries to screw Trump by endorsing him

Deep down, Chris Christie probably knows that he'll never get elected to anything again. And he probably also knows that a large segment of the population thinks he's a sleaze. So he just might think that the most he can do to help screw Trump is to endorse him.

The other possibility is that Christie is so totally self-unaware, he thinks that his endorsement is "important." Perhaps he believes that the future "President Trump" will appoint him to some major job.

Either way, I don't think anyone in the world gives a rat's ass who Christie endorses.

Art of the deal.

Christie is a moderate with governing experience and like it or not that will make the ticket a lot more attractive to mainstream voters.

IMO, Christie is toxic and no one will touch him.

a definite horror. Even though Christie is committed to finishing out his term as Governor which ends in 2018...that doesn't mean that when "the President calls" he won't show up for duty.

Christie claims he's commited

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie endorses Donald Trump for president

FORT WORTH, Tex. — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday received the high-profile endorsement of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a stunning blow to the four remaining Republican White House hopefuls who are urgently hoping to stymie the billionaire’s path to the nomination.

“I've gotten to know all the people on that stage, and there is no one who is better prepared to provide America with the strong leadership that it needs, both at home and around the world, than Donald Trump,” Christie said during a news conference with Trump here in Fort Worth

---------------

Trump dismissed a question from reporters about whether Christie was being considered for the vice presidential nomination or for a Cabinet position, saying that they never discussed that when Christie called to offer his endorsement. The governor said he is committed to fulfilling his term in office, which ends in 2018.[/b

He'll get plenty of endorsements from the establishment as he gets closer to the nomination.

Doesn't sound like his VP going to be Rubio or Cruz either.

would fit the bill nicely. They haven't really done battle and OH is an important swing state. It'll shore up his right flank given Kasich's recent signing of a bill defunding Planned Parenthood.

With someone like Kasich, he'd be dealing with a Bush/Cheney-like situation where everyone figures the VP is running the show. Now, I know he has no interest in actually governing the country and would be happy to have other people doing the work but I think his ego needs people to believe he's competently managing things.

where he was asked the question. The only reason I don't think it would be Kasich was Donald said he wanted someone who knew their way around Washington - who knew who to talk to and what to do to get deals done. Sounds to me like a senator (picking Sue Collins would be a great move for him - she's fairly young-ish - 63 - and he may think it would help him with women).

A woman might be necessary with Hillary as the likely Dem nominee but, then, he still has the minority voter problem to sort out. He has so many needs that a prospective VP would help to fill that one person is unlikely to be enough. I can imagine him naming a sort of working cabinet early on.

If he really wanted to help Trump, he would've stayed in the race through Super Tuesday to pull votes from Rubio.
