One such post, that was entitled Tricks of the trade lets exchange! was started by a deputy who admitted much more than officers usually do to people outside of their forces:
To them, it's just a game
Remind me again why I should respect police.

(32,688 posts)I was married to a cop that did or knew about all of it. I don't know if she planted drugs, but know she stole them.

(13,452 posts)Do you respect DUers? Because some of them plant bad stories and false alerts... I hope so.

(3,839 posts)"The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part.
What does this have to do with my attitude of never trusting or respecting cops?
They aren't all bad?? Enough at to warrant my disrespect for them.

(13,452 posts)You disagree with 1: You must be in a tough place that I cannot understand. I certainly don't know it.
If you have a problem with your local cops, perhaps you should try becoming involved a little and talk with them. Becoming involved is a little better than bringing cookies, but, whatever works.

I have problems with all cops. They are all brown shirt wearing street thugs for monied interests.
IF you love them so much, go have them come into your house and inspect. As they say, if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.
And you're aloof, haughty and condescending attitude is offputting and reminds me that what Phil Ochs said about liberals still applies.

(13,452 posts)That would make Phil Ochs a new stanza.
Let me add that I admire your ability to express yourself with clarity that shines through even typing mistakes. I am envious.
I can see that you might really mean that you think ALL cops are bad. All. And, I disagree with that so much that I worry your support of the Bern would bother prospective converts to Bernie. But, that's me.
You have great passion that makes you successful. That passion I also admire. So, I'll just wish you well and good night.

(13,452 posts)Priests, cops, politicians all need people to interact with them to keep them on the straight and narrow.
good luck with your neck of the woods.

(3,839 posts)overwhelming evidence is a person who thinks they are right using snide, arrogant and borderline nihilistic approaches to condescend to the people who challenge them.
Good luck in your little hole. Please put on your police hat. . .it is the cure for those suffering from "brutality headache."

(26,623 posts)Frank Serpico thought so too..
"A policemans first obligation is to be responsible to the needs of the community he serves The problem is that the atmosphere does not yet exist in which an honest police officer can act without fear of ridicule or reprisal from fellow officers. We create an atmosphere in which the honest officer fears the dishonest officer, and not the other way around."

(39,215 posts)this is done. IF this is what they are being taught either in the police academies or by older cops then this needs to be stopped NOW. Many MBA programs teach that lying in advertising is fine. Seems that a big part of what is wrong in both the LE and business world is that they no longer have ethics and morals.
