68 year old woman tko'd by 24 year old woman in MMA debut

Proof: http://www.sherdog.com/blog/Video-68YearOld-Woman-Shown-No-Mercy-in-her-MMA-Debut-100713

I am shocked this is not bigger news. This shocks me (and I am not the shocked type) on a number of levels.

First, the ref was incompetent. He should lose his license.

Second, what 24 year old signs up for this sort of thing.

Third, the matchmaker and promoter should lose their license.

I like combat sports. Last weekend 2.7 million people almost watched a guy die. Then this.

WTF?

How anyone can seriously call this shit a sport is beyond me. May as well go to a cockfight.

I remember in 1995 being in South Korea and amazed at watching UFC fighters literally beat each other to a pulp. The sport was outlawed in America at that time. Now they call it mixed martial arts. Such barbarism, close quarters combat is why we have coliseums throughout the world!

Who are we to challenge The Peoples favorite bread and circus?

He did not die but was critical after the fight. He was overweight and fat and cut 40 lbs of water in a week. His opponent, such as one can call it, just beat on him for 12 minutes until he fell over from exhaustion. Complete shitshow.

I was aware it was on but made a miss like.

...knocked out cold a lot quicker. It was actually a TKO, and she was right back up on her feet. She's got guts to do this, but she should mark it off her bucket list, and just take it easy. Mickey Rourke was in the boxing ring at 62. Hell, I'm 64 and up until about a year ago I was hitting the trails with my son and grandson on our dirt bikes almost every weekend. Just keep going and doing.

Repeated blows that do not knock you out do much more damage than one punch on the button.

What if the young woman decided just to throw elbows at her eyes?

... and that's why I wrote that she should just mark it off of her bucket list. Count it as an experience and thank her lucky stars it wasn't worse. From what I observed, I don't believe the young woman intended any elbows. Perhaps ending it as quickly as she did was a favor.

It worked and she won, didn't she? I think you should ask "what 68 year old signs up for this sort of thing" instead.

Someone who likes MMA?

Or perhaps she should just be more ladylike.
