Time to start recording your surgeries?

Damn...this is nasty. This guy goes in for a colonoscopy and accidentally records the whole procedure. Wins 500K in lawsuit, and anesthesiologist loses her job after he files a law suit for defamation and medical malpractice.

This is nasty and now I wonder what surgery teams say about everyone who is unconscious and will never know it? It's not on youtube so you will have to go to link if you want to hear the discussion, but I've transcribed it for those who don't want to do that.

anesthesiologist (talking to the unconscious patient):
And really, after five minutes of talking to you in pre-op, I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit.

Anesthesiologist
talking to the doctor:
So just make sure your gowned up. We don't want you to accidentally rub up against it. (the patient's rash)

now to the patient again:
Some syphilis on your arm or something.

Now to the doctor again:
It's probablty tuberculosis in the penis, so you'll be alright. Just get a PPD in like a month. And then you'll take some INH and be fine.

Doctor:
So, you're going to talk to the patient aferwards, right?

medical assistant:
Sure (sarcastically)

Doctor:
Just tell him Dr. Shaw said everything, you're just not remembering it.

Anesthesiologist:
You're going to have to have a timer go off, or have like a fake page. Dr. Shaw you're needed urgently in the office. OK, I have to go now.

I've done the fake page before.

Assistant:
I was putting his IV in, he's like "I always pass out when I look at the IV".

Anesthesiologist
:
Well, why are you looking then, retard?

They wanna believe what they wanna believe. These people are into their medical problems. They need to have medical problems.

Doctor:
I call it the Northern Virginia syndrome.

Anesthesiologist:
I agree it seems to be a heck of a lot worse here, cause it was not like this in Texas.

Doctor:
Here it's holier than thou. Too much internet use. A little too much information.

anesthesiologist:

Round and round we go. Wheel of annoying patients we go. Where it'll land nobody knows.

I feel bad, I shouldn't be so mean. I'm going to mark hemmeroids (on his chart) even though we don't see them, and probably won't. I'm going to just take a shot in the dark.

So, I take it the patients in North Virginia are more educated (than in Texas) and do more research ahead of time on the internet...and that's considered bad? Nice!

Maybe I won't do any more surgeries. My doc wants me to get a colonoscopy, but I'm not doing it.

"these people are into their medical problems. They need to have medical problems."

Yes, and if it weren't for people with such medical problems you wouldn't have a fucking job that keeps you in that big mansion and fancy car and sends your kids to their fancy schools, you stupid fucking idiot.

I do NOT think, however, that this is representative of medical professionals as a whole. I'm glad this guy caught these fuckers and that she lost her job over it. They ALL should have lost their jobs. They don't want to deal with people and their medical problems? Fine. No problem, that can be arranged.

They spend their days semi killing people. And I suspect the fumes get to them over time.

Really, they openly discuss getting prostitures and stuff.

Weird, weird people.

even 1% if what was said in the OR, the staff would all end up wearing body/cameras mics like LEO.
I spent 25 years in the OR. That conversation above was mild. Here is an example that still haunts me -
A child was brought to the OR for a broken pelvis and numerous cuts he received in MVA. He was screaming and crying for his parents, first him mom, then his dad. The Anesthesiologist said "Your drunk dad just killed your mom and tried to kill you. You belong to the state of Oklahoma now, that makes me your daddy, STFU."
DISGUSTING
You will notice none of the text above, was from the nurse. Good nurses try and do what they can, but its like a private pulling rank on a general. 9 times out of 10 the nurse will be the one looking for a new job.
