I spar with a Catholic Trump supporter at the coffee truck in the mornings.

Today he told me "the Pope has no business telling people that they're not good Christians."

I told him, "yeah, that's the GOP's job," and then left to catch my train.

He didn't mention any names at all, just gave some examples of what did and didn't constitute Christian behavior. There must be some guilty consciences over there on the GOP side - if there are consciences at all.

He does have the power of excommunication. Any Catholic should understand that.
And, if it comes up, politics is part of his job too, he's a head of state.
