Usually lawyers care about their reputation.
In fact, filing this would almost meet the definition of malpractice, I should think.
Anyone can file anything they want on their own.
This is a goofy eight page rant she filed as a paper in the criminal case. It's totally meaningless.

...noting that Cox's complaint seeks civil damages and won't be addressed in the pending criminal case. The court, it says, urges Cox to consult her attorney and make any arguments in the proper form and at the proper time.
