http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/son-moral-majority-founder-tells-pope-keep-out-politicsFalwell Jr., who is Donald Trumps most prominent evangelical endorser, took issue with criticism of his preferred candidate:
I really believe that anybody on the left or the right that tries to invoke the teachings of Jesus to say they should vote for this candidate or that candidate, I think theyre stretching Scripture.
Then, this afternoon, as Trump engaged in a war of words with Pope Francis over the GOP presidential frontrunners hardline anti-immigrant policies, Fallwell Jr. who has compared Trump to Jesus told CNN:
Jesus never intended to give instructions to political leaders on how to run a country.
With these remarks, Falwell Jr. is denying the very premise of the Religious Right movement which was shaped in large part by his father, Jerry Falwell.

Then ; How can it be said that the foundation of Democracy is established through biblical precepts?
Either Jesus/God established Democracy, or Jesus/God didn't establish Democracy ... If he/they did, then they of course "gave instruction" on how to "run a government"
So many peculiar inconsistencies ...

Like other prominent Republican figures, Falwell entered into a behind-the-scenes alliance with the Rev. Sun Myung Moon even as the self-proclaimed Messiah was denouncing America as Satans harvest and vowing to incorporate the United States into a worldwide theocratic empire that would eradicate all individuality.
Falwell sought to conceal his relationship with Moon, sometimes denying (falsely) that he had benefited from Moon's financial help or that he had been photographed with the cult leader. Other times, Falwell sought to justify his acceptance of Moons largesse.
If the American Atheists Society or Saddam Hussein himself ever sent an unrestricted gift to any of my ministries, Falwell said in response to a question about Moons financial assistance, be assured I will operate on Billy Sundays philosophy. The Devils had it long enough, and quickly cash the check.
Falwells acceptance of Moons mysterious money was first disclosed at Consortiumnews.com in fall 1997. In a pattern common to Moons financial operations, the Korean cult leader stepped in when a leading American conservative, in this case Falwell, was facing potential financial ruin.

So, covertly, Moon helped bail out Liberty University through one of his front groups which funneled $3.5 million to the Reber-Thomas Christian Heritage Foundation, the non-profit that had purchased the school's debt.

(10,272 posts)Usually ends very badly for the NotJesuit Party. So far, nobody has been able to jam a shiv through TehDonalds Teflon armor...but Francis ain't no rank amateur here. He came up through the Dirty Wars, and knows what hes doing. More importantly, he knows the game Trump is playing at (he knew what this was before Donald got out of bed this morning). If i were Trump, I would take today's exchange as a very serious warning not to fuck with a calm Lion.
