Shocker-Older women aren't totally useless, say academics

I'm loving the snark in this article:

Older women: what are they good for? Absolutely nothing, according to science – apart from looking after their adult sons, that is.

A new study has examined the existence of greying ladies in order to ascertain why they bother sticking around after fulfilling their solitary purpose of reproducing. They've put this biological quirk down to the fact women continue to nurture their children and grandchildren long after the menopause sets in

Well she did try and talk him out of it though.

I just want to know why I'm breathing, seeing how I've made it to 50 and never had kids. I should be put out on an ice flow any second now I guess.
