Republicans Show Signs of Division on Supreme Court Tactics

The "no hearings, no votes" stance for potential Obama nominees becomes a little less absolute for those wary of an electoral blowback.

Vulnerable Republican senators:

The stakes are high for the GOP, too: if Obama manages to get a Scalia replacement on the court, Republicans potentially would be giving up the chance to overturn Roe v. Wade and other long-nurtured goals for another generation. Replacing Scalia with a liberal justice could, in time, lead to the unraveling of numerous monumental 5 to 4 decisions on issues like gun rights, voting rights and religious liberty.

Two Republican senators from liberal states, in separate statements, did not call for blocking an Obama nominee.
