Confederate marker projected to be removed this spring (San Marcos TX)

By Rae Glassford - Feb 15, 2016, 8:27 am

The questionable fate of the Confederate highway marker at Sewell Park has been debated since August, but it may cease to be a controversial topic as early as this spring ...

One solution proposed by students entails relocating the marker to the Witliff Collection. However, the fate of the memorial rests in the hands of the Texas Department of Transportation.

“As long as we’re waiting on TXDOT, I wouldn’t hazard a guess as to the timeframe,” Algoe said.
