A lot of people don't have any or only have one heart. I always buy 25 and share with womever wants a heart or two.
I always ask for something in return...in the past a funny joke, what you're doing for your favorite charity, etc. Today Tell me you're favorite craft beer, appetizer dish, cocktail, or family Sunday dinner tradition. I'm in a culinary mood today.
Happy Sunday!

(15,943 posts)They are good, however, I don't own any of the copper mugs that are used in bars.
I'll have to buy some fresh mint

(9,745 posts)My favorite dinners are Kadai Paneer and Bhangan Bharta. Might have spelled those a little wrong.
I always go for the vegetarian stuff when it comes to Indian food --- soo so so good.

(65,395 posts)high profile person here. Since it was such a nice feeling to get those unexpected pats on the back, I think you should give your hearts to people who have none, to spread those pleasant feelings around. Therefore, I would like to "buy" a heart from you with the following true story:
Back in spring of 1973 I was teaching Shakespeare for the first time. One of the freshmen in my class came up to me after the first class period in which we had begun discussing the play (Hamlet). Looking puzzled, he said, "Why does everyone think Shakespeare is such a great writer? His plays are full of cliches!"
If you like that one, I have another true story of the same sort that I would pay for you to donate another heart to someone who has none. (Actually, after so many decades of teaching college students, I have quite a collection of them.)

(4,742 posts)I gave one anyway because I loved your story. Thanks for being so "real."

(65,395 posts)that person--or, if he/she has already gotten one by the time I finish typing, please give one to someone else who needs a heart.
While I was teaching Romeo and Juliet some years later, one of my students told me this story:During the suicide scene of her high school's production of Romeo and Julet, as Juliet leaned over Romeo's corpse she accidentally dropped her dagger, which slipped through the gap between two of the wooden slats of the rather old stage. How was she going to commit suicide without her dagger? Well, the quick-thinking young actress tore a scarf from the long sleeve of her costume, wrapped around her neck, and pretended to strangle herself with it. She got a spontaneous standing ovation, generously peppered with laughter, from the delighted audience.

(4,742 posts)Left Hand makes great beer. I love the Left Hand Milk Stout nitro.
Longmont is a great town. We used to shoot the July 4th fireworks there.

(2,434 posts)get some DU love. I like the Milk Stout as well, though I only drink beer when my son visits. They can now get Left Hand in NC and he is very happy.

(4,517 posts)Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Butter a 9X13 baking dish.
20 pitted dates
20 chocolate covered almonds
10 slices of bacon cut in half
Cut a slit in the date and put the almond inside. Wrap with bacon, secure with a toothpick.
In a shallow bowl whisk together:
1/4 cup of low sodium soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger.
In another bowl place 3/4 of a cup of dark brown sugar, break up any clumps.
Dip the dates in the soy sauce mixture and then coat them with brown sugar
Place in the greased baking dish.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until bacon is crisp.
***Very important - Let cool 10 min before serving.

(4,742 posts)I think the worst I ever burnt my mouth was on either a bacon wrapped piece of pineapple or a date I can't remember. What I do remember is the pain!

These are seriously, ridiculously delicious.
Deviled Potatoes
Boil some small (egg sized) new potatoes until tender. Let cool. Slice in half and use a teaspoon to scoop out a little round depression. (so it looks like a deviled egg half) (Save the scooped bits to make hash browns for your sweetie in the morning.)
Mix prepared hummus (extra delicious with red pepper flavored hummus) with your favorite deviled egg spice and condiment mix. Substitute kala namak for the salt if you have it; it will give it a nice, eggy flavor.
They're delish!
titaniumsalute
(4,742 posts)Sounds really good. Do you eat them right away or do you chill them for 24 hours to get the kind of pickling flavor a deviled egg gets after 24 hours in the fridge?
Chellee
(2,097 posts)I usually make enough to eat right away and have leftovers in the fridge.
Thanks for the heart.

(4,742 posts)Montana is one of the only states I haven't had a beer from in the US (including Alaska and Hawaii.) And that photo! Woww!

(28,340 posts)I don't even know where to start. If there were a heaven I'm pretty sure God would hand you a Montana beer on the way in.
As for Montana - she is the lover you could never know. The most enticing photograph can provide only a pale reflection. The power of this place hits you in the sternum and knocks your very breath away, and you will never really get it back.
