Women do not always experience the same heart attack symptoms that men do.
Just ask Jamie Sage, 55, of Council Bluffs, who suffered a heart attack on Aug. 6, 2015, without experiencing any pain.
That evening, I walked home, and I was just sweating really, really bad, she said. My husband told me, You dont look good. You look pale.
Later that evening, Sages sister-in-law took her to the emergency room at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

(14,858 posts)My cousin went to see him and realized something was wrong, called my aunt and uncle and they took him to the ER. They had no idea it was a heart attack because he said he had no pain in his chest or anywhere else. Unfortunately, it was too late for him, and he died that night.

(819 posts)I am a woman and know the symptoms aren't the same as men, but have a feeling I'd be toughing out symptoms and waiting for them to pass. My Grandfather had heart damage from an unknown heart attack and eventually died years later due to heart issues.
It is scary stuff.

(5,946 posts)Good for her family to get her to a hospital and treated in time, but she is lucky, seems like they took their time. Wonder why her husband did not take her when he noticed she looked bad?
