You won't believe it, but I happened to post this on FB when I heard about Scalia:

Honestly I'd have preferred a slow woodchipper accident, but I'll take this just as well.

Damn waiting period.

Plus I'm betting he never got the required pre-cremation body cavity search 10 days ago and a note from his doctor confirming he's had a good talking to about what cremation will do to his body.

And it would be appropriate for Scalia to burn in Hell.

I believe he requested cremation because he knew any cemetery plot he was buried in would quickly turn into an open pit sewer. I would be willing to open up a beer stand (upwind, of course) to sell cheap beer to fuel those standing in line to piss on his grave.

Catholic Church is ok with cremation as long as the cremains are kept together and buried or entombed. It does not endorse scattering the ashes.

From my days as a catholic I remember that cremation was a big no-no. Mortal sin IIRC.
Can't imagine after all those years of pushing his faith from his chair on SCOTUS he would fuck up his last move.

it sounded like something from my youth. I'm now a recovering Catholic.

OTOH, my father, s practicing Catholic to the end, requested cremation.

Apparently, it's OK these days. http://www.cremationresource.org/cremation/what-do-catholics-believe-about-cremation.html

I have requested cremation for myself.

. . . Can our nation with Bernie and then Elizabeth at the helm over the next 16 years undo the gross damage that the Supreme Court has done to our nation at the hands of Scalia? It is the greatest dream I have for my children.
