The Supreme Court and the Democrats.

The democrats need to go the full monty on this republican "wait until the election" bullshit.

There needs to be a complete and unified stand against this nonsense and the republicans need to be brought to shame. The conduct of republicans in reaction to Scalia's death is nothing less than a disgrace and an affront to our democracy. I am so grateful that President Obama has now long figured out what a bunch of a-holes he is dealing with and that he isn't going to let them get away with it. There needs to be an all out public relations war in which democrats across the nation shame the republicans and demand that President Obama fullfill his Constitutional duty in appointing a new justice to the Supreme Court.

The republicans need to be forced to answer what they would say if there was currently a republican president in office. Would they say "let us wait until the election"? Of course not. They need to be forced to wear their hypocricy.

The democrats in Washington and across the country must get the media on their side and force a confrontation with the republicans.

Republicans have hijacked our democracy one too many times. Hopefully, they have now gone too far.

He's already stated he intends to fill the vacancy left by Justice Scalia's death.

What we do need to do is support President Obama's actions, even if we don't understand his strategy. There will be a battle, and both sides will try to use it -- of necessity, they really have no choice -- to affect the 2016 elections in their direction and not inadvertently lose votes to moves that don't come off well with the electorate.

Generals can't clue the troops in on their plans for obvious reasons. As is usual in his job, it's extremely likely that President Obama also will not be able to explain all the reasons he is making the choices he is.

ITM, SCOTUS can operate indefinitely with 8 members. In event of ties, the lower court rulings stand but aren't considered legal precedents. Right now, most of the lower court rulings in important cases pending before SCOTUS are on the liberal side.

So President Obama has many strategies available, including using time itself to his benefit, and nominating someone very quickly is likely to only be the first move on the board of a more complex game.

stop this obstructionism so that President Obama can fullfill his Constitutional duty. I could have worded that better.
