If Trump keeps reminding people that the World Trade Center came down during the presidency of George W. Bush he might just lose South Carolina. This crowd is not enjoying being reminded that George W. Bush was President on September 11, 2001.

4. Trump's problem is that he isn't actually a Republican.

He's a loud, boorish egomaniac whose only allegiance is to himself; he has no particular ideology. He says appalling things that appeal to the teabagger contingent because he knows they'll eat it up - it's all marketing - but who knows whether he actually believes half the crap he says? If, God help us, he were actually elected president, I think the GOP rank and file would find themselves pretty disappointed in him because he'll do whatever he feels like.
