Like Males, the females who do not vote don't even know they should even care about politics. They have little interest in more than what is immediately around them. It's sad but it is the truth as I see it. They don't pay attention because it doesn't immediately impact their lives in the here and now.

They already announced their intention to block, postpone and basically do whatever is necessary to stop the president. It's expected.

I mean that completely without snark -- I've been in Mexico all day, either at the dentist or the bar. No data plan in Mexico. All I can get on the hotel TV is Fox News, nbc golf, and SyFy.

I assumed the Rs would block anyone Obama nominated, and maybe even someone President Ted Cruz nominated (because they are that fucking crazy). My poor, naive spouse believes that Congress wouldn't shirk their duty, because the SCOTUS is too important.

3 women on court now. Another would be fine, and/or more minority representation. But overall, I have no preference or quota.

I'm just thankful for a chance to sneak another moderate on the court, but for the Repubs.

Republican women will be trashing the nominee just as much.

I know it sounds odd, but there are conservative women out there...quite a lot actually.

Jimmy Carter's first election. After retirement she started watching TV all day and night, including many of the Fox News shows. When 2012 came around she voted for Obama. Among the reasons given by her was their constant trashing of the President and their stand on women's rights. Shocked the hell out of me because I had all but given up on her.

I know my fair share of them and they mostly hate Obama.

Interesting though, a coworker of mine who is female and Republican said she'd vote for Bernie. But otherwise she said she's going to vote for Trump. She hates Hillary. HATES her.

House and Senate has a major role here, and those seats by far are underserved by Women. Personally, I'm interested in SMART WOMEN, not a bunch of empty headed shills for the Religious Right.

Oh, my women friends are Bernie supporters cuz, we understand the issues are imperative for both genders.

Vote for Hillary? Or vote for whomever the nominee is? I will vote for Bernie in the primary. I will not say who I am voting for in the GE and no even if they blocked a female SC nominee that would not affect who I vote for in the GE. I will base my vote in the GE based on who will fight for SS, single payer healthcare, more funding for all education, a living wage. Yes, SC nominations will be a part of my vote. I want a president who will nominate a SC judge who will overturn Citizens United, and protect civil rights, but it will only be part of my decision on who to vote for, not the only decision in how I decide my vote. By the way I also want a SC nominee who will fight to protect small businesses or individuals who get screwed by corporations, take their case to the SC and who often get shot down in flames. That doesn't get talked about much when discussing SC nominees.

I know some that are independent with no affiliation with either party. The independent voters make up a significant chunk of voters. My republican older sister changed and voted for Obama in 2012. One reason was women's rights. Just wondering if the repukes trashing of a female SC nominee during a highly publicized election cycle might sway some like her.

I don't think issues that relate to gender are the focus of this particular election cycle. I think the fact that our economy is rigged will be the focus of this election cycle. Those that align themselves with a party may vote based on who will be the SC nominee. And maybe a few Independents will as well, but I think for the most part Independents will be sending a message to Washington that they will not put up with a rigged economy any longer. I myself just became an Independent a couple of years ago and the rigged economy will be the main focus of my vote.
