What GOP candidate will be hurt most by gridlock, that is Senate non-confirmation? Cruz.

The Republican refusal to confirm an Obama nominee for the Supreme Court will only remind GOP voters of Ted Cruz's filibuster and reputation as a non-cooperative senator.

Donald Trump and the art of the deal might b the winner.

But the Republicans will lose all decisions which are not split 4-4. The splits will let the lower court's ruling stand. So even if the lower courts are split 50-50% that puts the odds on the liberal side.

I'm seeing more reasons the Senate might confirm. Not doing so (with all else ;they will be not doing) might cost them the good will of the voting public and the presidential election.

of the candidates. I would think the open seat on the court would prompt pub voters to nominate someone like Cruz or MAYBE Trump. They KNOW they NEED a really strong conservative to keep control of the court.
