Hat tip to the FBI and LEOs for their work and patience. #BundyTeaParty is over.

Let's give a shout out to our fellow citizens burdened with dealing with insane fundamentalist terrorists.

The standoff is over for us viewers. But a lot of people are going to be working on this for a long time to come, prosecuting, even defending and counseling, and then feeding these people for long years to come. Show them your support here.

And their restraint really helped point out how marginalized and how small this group and their sympathizers really are.

And all the other DUers who contributed. You know who you are.

Altogether, a satisfactory outcome. Sadly, one death. However, given the arms in play, it is very good that their weren't any more.

The LEO and FBI were very professional and used remarkable restraint. Although the latter was at times frustrating, in hindsight it ended up being the correct move.

I heartily support the sentiment expressed in the OP.

(Plus, they arrested Clive Bundy, too.)

Explains why she kept agreeing with them about Lavoy being murdered, FBI is bad and government is evil when she was on the phone yesterday. Think she rushed to the jail to rescue Daddy Bundy too? So many criminals to defend ... so little time!

Around 6 PM she had landed. She decides to ride to the refuge, Ammon's lawyer driving. Cliven shows up later at night, other Bundy Ranch and Coalition of Western States actors were arriving too. Some of them went to Burns with Michele, embarrassed themselves on camera for us. She really is a party to the #BundyTeaParty.

Jumping on DU in between work & chores tends to leave gaps. That's why I love this place, information freely shared!

Being tight with the clan sure explains the entitled attitude she displayed - like she had authority over the FBI & their negotiators!

Ironic, isn't it!

They see themselves as a cliche of righteous fighters against the over-reaching evil gubmint, for which they require lots of guns. And, they expect lots of land and minerals in return for the state taxpayer lobbying for them to get the free stuff.

The occupy camp in Portland lasted much longer than Malheur, but they weren't feloniously impeding the federal government.
