"Imagine"
The "war" on GD-P is about as ugly a "disagreement" as I've seen on DU in the years I've been here. Many people, on both sides, seem to forget there is a line between disagreement and outright, ugly, venomous hatred.
Much of it spills over here into GD every day. Some of it gets locked and some of it gets through. Many on GD have used "ignore" more than they ever did in the past. And there are quite a few DU members who seem to have totally lost what almost all of us believed was our Democratic "gift for tolerance."
Perhaps I'm living in a different "reality," but I'd like to post the lyrics of John Lennon's "Imagine." Some here may have been too young to have ever heard it, and others may have completely forgotten it. And there even may be those here who thought Lennon was a hopeless, idealist from another planet for even writing it.
Nonetheless, read these lyrics. And then google it and listen to John Lennon sing it. Maybe the world that he dreamed of in "Imagine" will never exist. But that doesn't mean we should stop hoping for it.

I guess that about the only thing he left out was "Imagine there's no politics," but it's implied in so many of those lines.
I, for one, would like to see a lot more brotherhood/sisterhood and tolerance on GD-P. How about it?
