Perfect and Fun Revenge for those Annoying Telemarketer/Robo calls....

I get these calls multiple times a day. Now, I just conference these calls to +1 (214) 666-4321, connect the two calls, hit mute and enjoy the fun....trust me, its worth any long distance charges you may incur....check at the video at the link below...

https://www.yahoo.com/tech/dial-number-next-time-telemarketing-195800798.html

It works great! Even on those calls where the the telemarketer is typing his verbal response.

This number is now on my speed dial.

Enjoy!

That beats some of the less high-tech methods I've heard of, like the musician friend who would blow a sour note on an out-of-tune sax into the receiver, and the guy with a disability who would answer in a voice like that of someone who has cerebral palsy.

"Great, could I get your full name?"

"could you spell that"

That's the way we handle telemarketers' phone calls. It costs us nothing to be courteous.

If they're doing their jobs by harassing people who have already expressly made it clear they don't want their home phones ringing with this shit, they should look for different work.

they're not calling you to torture you. They're trying to pay the bills. Believe me she hated every minute of it.

I have an answering machine and caller ID. If I don't recognize the number I don't answer.

I can't rightly be terribly surprised when they're pissed that I ring their door repeatedly anyway.

Sorry, that's simple courtesy- to not violate someone's personal space once they've made it expressly clear they don't want you to. And the exact same thing is applicable to telemarketers who call people who have already put themselves on the do not call list.

If we're talking about people who aren't on the DNC call list, fine- but I have a hard time believing that anyone who would be driven to use this service wouldn't have already done that, first. I know for a fact that the DNC call list stopped a lot of legitimate telemarketers, but there are still plenty of shady operators who ignore it.

Someone taking a job has a modicum of responsibility to find out if their employer's business model is predicated upon harassing people who have expressly made it clear they don't want to be harassed. In the very least, they're going to hear a lot of "I'm on the Do Not Call list, why are you calling me?" ... that should be a red flag, right there.

If they continue to do it, I don't have a lot of sympathy. The DNC list exists for a reason.

if you've had other business with whatever company they're calling for- they can call you. Also, the politicians helpfully exempted themselves from being blocked. So, Senator Doesnothing can call asking for money.

Hey, paying the bills takes precedence sometimes. Bill collectors don't want to hear "I didn't like their business model."

Getting forwarded to this service.

Also a great many of these "telemarketers" are scammers, like the "windows support' assholes. I have zero sympathy for them.

My policy is to say "oh that sounds great, hang on" and then play a 37 minute dark star jam for them. At least they're getting cultural enrichment.

not the only one "retaliating" and maybe it's now routine.
P.S. The Windows scammers - I have absolutely no sympathy for them. They harassed a elderly friend. They deserve what they get.

They're trying to get people to install malware, so basically they're crimimals.

I said "oh, my, that sounds serious. So what is my IP addess?" "Your what?" "You said my computer is sending out malware, so what is my ip address?" CLICK

she didn't have a laptop anymore - they actually accused her of lying! My friend hates being called a liar so she argued with them (she admits she isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer).

She has an answering machine but wasn't using it. A la the old school (she's 81), she kept answering the phone anyway. It took some effort to get her to just let the machine do what it's made for. I told her she owes those people NOTHING, not an excuse, not a reason, not a goddamn anything.
