I didn't see this video posted on DU over the weekend. I wanted to make sure nobody missed it.

(16,199 posts)Rubio is nothing but an empty suit and Christie exposed that to the entire audience. That said, the Repubs are so divorced from reality that I doubt it will have much impact.

is wow, that was brutal to watch, and I loved every minute of it. I am no Christie fan, but he made Rubio seem so small and so not ready for the most powerful office in the world, and I think he did this country a tremendous favor by exposing that reality. I think any candidate who will say if their elected, they will tear up the Iran Nuclear Agreement their first day in office as President, is not worthy of that office. And that's exactly what Rubio likes to say in his obviously rehearsed 30 second sound bites.

(1,089 posts)about that on my FB news feed this morning. There's a picture of a person purported to be Rubio dancing in some Chip n Dale's sort of group at a gay bar. Of course, it was a link shared by a racist teabagger relative of mine who thinks all of our problems would be solved if we'd just make sure we elect tRump. No surprise there.
I didn't share it, of course. As much as I don't want Rubio (or any of the other asswipes on the other side) to be POTUS, I really hate sexual orientation shaming/outing even more than I love delicious hypocrisy from the holier-than-thou types.

Great video - saw it live and our jaws dropped. They were both pathetic but one was battered and beaten.

(42,334 posts)What a spectacular flameout. Living in FL, I hold nothing but contempt for lightweight Rubio and his revolting mentor, Bush III. I hate that Christie got to get ahead by using his bully routine, but since he's probably going nowhere but back to Jersey after tomorrow, it was worth it.

(12,754 posts)What he's doing is stock-in-trade for Fox News. Every day, they have three or four talking points, and every show -- all day long -- repeats those exact same talking points over and over and over.
Apparently, this is how you get the propaganda to sink in.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." --Joseph Goebbels.
I remember right after the Bush Crime Family found that people were opposed to the idea of trying terror suspects before military tribunals. So they decided to rename them as "terror tribunals."
Later that day, I was trapped in a place where Fox News was on. I noticed that the little crawl across the screen carried the words "terror tribunals" about every two or three minutes -- for the entire time I was there. Even is someone hadn't been paying full attention, those words would have been burned into their brain after several hours sitting in front of Fox.

(37,573 posts)this clip is from a Fox news show attacking him for doing it.
and he said three different things. The first two were attacks on Christie, and Christie pushed back at those with his own 25 second statement that he repeated twice, or more. The last four were attacks on Obama.

(9,387 posts)As satisfying as it was to witness Chris Christie's skewering of Marco Rubio's little wagon of repetitive, wind-up toy responses in a critical presidential race, we gotta keep in mind that with this development, there is one candidate who is salivating over the demise of his little apprentice, and that is Jeb Bush.
Jeb wants to clear the field of any "Establishment" candidate who would dare to block his path to the crown. In Jeb's
eyes, little Marco is Judas, for jumping in line ahead of his mentor. A brokered and hotly contested convention would be a more difficult path for Jeb than shoving Rubio out of the way ahead of time. Jeb is spending tons of money trying to tear Rubio down, and it is angering Jeb's Big Money guys and allies, big time.
A double-edged sword, eh, Jeb? Where is your "joy"?
Enjoy, but need to keep our eyes on the ball.

We must never take our eyes off Jeb Bush, for he is the snake in the grass, waiting to envenom his perceived enemies.

(10,098 posts)I was thinking ! was always in it until this last week, but now I feel an opening, if he wasn't just as fupid or more so than his brother. Gave Christie a chance to wave his **** around for awhile though.
Barack Obama knows exactly what he's doing.

(9,123 posts)..... Was a nice change of pace from all the infighting. Even hearing BOR on Colbert was a needed jolt of adrenaline to remind us who the real enemies of working class Americans are in this country.
Hopefully Rubio is exposed as an opportunist. And thugs like Christie & Trump will devour each other. That apparently leaves us watching the Dems knock each other out.
Then what?

Plus, while I hate Rubio, the deadliest threat in the whole lineup is Cruz, because he can play directly to the Dixie voters who would love nothing more than to have Hillary burnt at the stake, and whose churches will make sure souls get to the polls.
