Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsRead an article in the Charlotte Observer today about Ted Cruz's evangelicals "strategy."
This was the print edition of the paper, which I read while waiting for my car to be fixed, so no link.
The article essentially said:
1). Cruz believes while, middle-to-upper class evangelicals are all he needs to get elected. Not just nominated, elected.
2). Cruz believes that since we are not electing a President of color like we did in the last two terms, like we did with Obama, voters of color are going to stay home.
I shit you not.
Sorry I don't have a link to the online article...it's a real eye-opener. He literally intends to make no effort whatsoever to court Hispanic, African-American, or any other voters other than white evangelicals.

(67,111 posts)thinking. I should have gotten over it by now, but I'm still astounded. Not caring seems endemic to humans for the most part. We elect politicians that should care, some really do, but often many don't give a F either, and many see it as an opportunity for $$$$$'s and power grabs.

(16,286 posts)One group says hell no I wont vote if my candidate isnt in and at the same time constantly attack the other candidate to the point of harming said candidate's chance of winning if nominated.
So he is hoping to see more of this.

(67,111 posts)conquer. Anyone that stays home and pisses their pants, and feels warm and cozy by not voting for the nominee because it's not theirs is a damn fool.
