What I love the MOST about DU, and what keeps me coming back day after day...

is that in times of stress and need, we put aside our differences and come together as a family. We're like a family who fights at the dinner table, but God Damn don't let anyone take on one of our own, lest they have to deal with the rest of us.

I don't get into the Lounge as much as I should because I'm happier with a baseball bat than a tennis racket, but sometimes I do and when I DO venture in there I never fail to find something that touches me.

DU was there for me last year when both my Mom and Dad had strokes. There for me in such a way that BOTH times I was able to lay my head on my pillow and go to sleep with hope in my heart.

Tonight I ran across this, and I hope the OP doesn't mind my asking all of you to go to this thread and leave a note.

I truly do love you all.

My threshold for "family fights," as you say, is very low (probably because my family fought), and so I have to disappear for long periods of time (also, a hallmark of mine). But when I need to know about something I'm unfamiliar with or interested in, I login to DU and hang around a while. But, invariably, you guys get under my skin, 10 years on lol
