Both of their children have lead poisoning

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/05/us/many-flint-residents-are-desperate-to-leave-but-see-no-escape.html?_r=0
<snip>
Charles White, a carpenter, sat on the couch in the living room of his small bungalow, his gaze fixed on his 5-month-old, Vaughn, nestled in a bouncy chair at his feet.

Mr. White, who has lived in Flint most of his life, said that he was at his job the day before when his girlfriend, Tia, called in a panic after coming from the pediatrician. Both of their children have lead poisoning.

“She spent all day crying, trying to figure out how we’re going to get out of here,” he said softly. “I’m prepared to sell everything I own to get out and save my children.”

Yet Mr. White, like many people here, says he is as good as trapped in this poisoned city.

Because the drinking water flowing from their pipes is contaminated, tens of thousands of people here may have been exposed to lead and other toxic chemicals. Untold numbers of them are desperate to leave. But few see a way to pick up and move to a place where the water that flows from the taps is clean and safe.

after industries ruined land and waterways. The government bailed them out.

Now these people have been shit on royally with their children possibly having a lifetime of problems caused by callous politicians and most likely they have lost any value in their houses.
And Michigan's governor wants to give them a discount on the poison he is selling them

That's what came to mind when I first heard of the early pogrom of the "emergency managers". The legislature is at fault here as well and should also be held accountable. Rachel Maddow was covering the early stages of this travesty right as the legislature was ram-rodding all the laws which made this possible several years ago.

you know, as Snyder says, people shouldn't have to pay for water they can't drink, or, at least, should only pay 70% of it. Yeah, right!!!!

This is criminal, all to save a few bucks and eventually privatize the system, the ultimate goal. Poor people are invisible in America, and therefore expendable.

Seems to me it was to kill off a lot of African-Americans all over the state. The first thing the legislature did was to nullify all local elections in black dominated areas like Flint, Detroit, Benton Harbor and several others and then start selling off all municipal assets and the next phase is this kill 'em with their water pogrom.

"Paging Loretta Lynch, paging Loretta Lynch, pick up on line one."

And maybe the UN will step in.

The full force of the federal government should be investigating the criminal governor.
