Bundy, 9 others indicted by federal grand jury

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A federal grand jury has indicted the leader of the armed standoff at an Oregon wildlife refuge and his followers.

Federal prosecutor Geoff Barrow says the indictment involves the 11 people arrested so far “and others,” perhaps a reference to the four holdouts still occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

The FBI arrested Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Brian Cavalier, Shawna Cox, Ryan Payne, Joseph O’Shaughnessy, Peter Santilli, Duane Ehmer, Jason Patrick and Dylan Anderson on probable cause. Six were arrested during a traffic stop along Hwy 395, others arrested at or near the refuge.

Arizona resident Jon Ritzheimer was also arrested in connection to the occupation but remains in custody in Arizona.

Each has been charged with one felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation or threats.

1. i hope the "one felony charge" is just to get them into the system....

and that more charges are coming. These guys racked up a laundry list of crimes. vandalizing property, stealing vehicles, using firearms to hold the refuge. Sure these is plenty more stuff they could be charged with. Want to make sure these guys are put away for a lnog time and not just slapped on the wrist, and BTW when is Cliven scumbag getting hauled in?

6. Reports now say sixteen are indicted.

So five more than were charged before. Perhaps arrests are forthcoming tonight or in the morning, before their names are unsealed.

Not sure how this impacts those released on one charge if other charges are now pending.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Portland did not disclose the charges contained in the indictment, which has been sealed, but said it would likely be made public soon. A previous criminal complaint charged 11 former occupiers with conspiracy to impede federal officers.
