Top military generals: Women should have to register for the draft

The top Army and Marine Corps generals told senators Tuesday that it will take up to three years to fully integrate women into all combat jobs, adding that women also should have to register for the draft.

The military service leaders repeatedly vowed that they will not lower standards to bring women into the more grueling jobs. But they warned that inherent physical differences and different injury rates between men and women will have an impact on how the integration moves ahead.

The selective service question revealed differences between the military chiefs and their political leaders. Army Gen. Mark Milley and Marine Gen. Robert Neller both flatly said that women should be included in the requirement to register for the selective service at age 18. But Navy Secretary Ray Mabus and Army Acting Secretary Patrick Murphy would only say that the issue should be discussed. Political leaders overall have so far been reluctant to endorse the draft requirement.

The sometimes contentious hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee laid bare the deep reluctance of Marine Corps leaders to bring women into certain demanding infantry, armor and special operations jobs.

After a lengthy review by the services and the Pentagon, Defense Secretary Ash Carter in December ordered all combat jobs open to women, but also vowed that no standards would be lowered to make way for women.

The closest eligible relative of any politician who votes for war, and those relatives should be at the tip of the fucking spear of combat. Lose a few chickenhawk children and grandchildren to war, and it suddenly won't be so damn attractive.

On edit: I'm sorry, I know it's not germane to the original post, but it set me off.

The only practical reason for a draft is when you are paying military members slave wages and you can't get volunteers. When the military is turning away over half the people who apply even during wartime, there's no legitimate argument for a draft.

You want to punish family members for the actions of those related to them? Seriously? I can do harm to you if your Uncle is a shit to me? That is your concept here?
Fuck that.

even after the deadline was extended, because of the claim that it would allow women to be drafted.

Our government can't say women are second class citizens and then require them to participate in the draft.

been drafted while gay? Is that the government that can't both daft people and treat them as second class citizens? Is that the same government that treated me as a second class citizen under the tax codes while charging me first rate taxes?
That government? The one that cited the Bible as reason to shit on us? The Bible says women must never have power over men. Hillary cites the Bible against LGBT while being a Senator.
Hypocrites are the worst humans.
