Help, Please: Special Needs Family in Missouri Needs Roof (& More)

I have been privileged to meet some amazing people over the last few years through my work with the Preemie Growth Project, and one of the most amazing families lives in Missouri. Mom and Dad now have NINE children, with six of them adopted with a variety of special needs.

The youngest child is a living miracle - Fragile X with a permanent trachea and medical issues that require round the clock care. Her life is a miracle, and she has defied all "logical" predictions about not only her life expectancy, but her physical and mental capacities as well.

The devotion required has not come without cost -- the sacrifices have been many.

They are finally asking for help.

You can read the request here - https://www.gofundme.com/qvhyenuk - they need a new roof, insulation and other things like a communication device that isn't 100% covered and costs $17K. There is more...

These are GOOD people. Please help, if you can. And if anyone knows of any organizations that can help this amazing family in Missouri, please share.

Thank you!

I know more people would probably donate if they saw that photo, but my photo bucket skills are minimal.

I appreciate your help!!!

I just reread your post. I think I should try them on my 96-year-old father who has digestion problems as well as balance problems and incipient dementia.

Is very common sense.

1) A good quality multivitamin
2) A good quality liquid trace mineral supplement (not one mixed with vitamins)
3) A good quality probiotic
4) A good quality essential fat (Omega 3)

You can get all of it on Amazon or at your local vitamin store.

Sarah (the youngest in the family with the GoFundMe) saw remarkable progress in the feasibility study, with increase in her immune responses as a non-tracked benefit and no longer failure to thrive (which is now killing her mother's back!). They kept telling the mom to "let her go" because she wasn't going to ever make it, and she is now about to start kindergarten! Oh, and they told her mom she would only have the mental capacity of a three month old, which has been blown away thanks to the eye gaze equipment. (There were tears of joy when she was able to tell her mom "I love you" for the first time, answer questions about her family, and then laughter when she was able to call siblings funny names, too.)

These people are amazing. Please, if DU can help....
