The package arrived. The fragile vase is intact. There was no styrofoam. The was a little bubble wrap. Most of the packing material was empty pint drinking water bottles with the lids still on them. So most of the material will be recycled instead of taking up space in a land fill that never breaks down!!!

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]I buy regularly from a company that uses partially shredded cardboard as a very effective packing material. Same deal: highly recyclable - and I love it!

9. Unattached bottle caps. That's right! On their own, bottle caps are hard to bale and clog up sorters. But when attached their bottle, they're easier for machines to process.

recycleable packing "peanuts" that looked like styrofoam but were made from starch and would dissolve in water. They were edible. I wonder what happened to that company?
