1. He is exactly what our political system has become.

He's the perfect example. It's a complete joke and as proof just look at Trump and his being taken as a serious politicain. That's politics as they've become today. Politicians aren't serious and they don't want to help anyone but themselves. Just like Trump. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this at all.

Now as far as his popularity with the GOP base. That's likely real but I don't believe it's very deep. Many voters in that party don't like him so he may win the fight for nomination, but he will probably lose the battle in the general very badly. Thanks.
