Trump will not win the primary for ReTHUGs. He'd better watch his back. Some men are getting desperate.

(42,766 posts)Some RWers like that in a candidate and that is what keeps Trump energized.
However, that's just a small margin of the eligible voters. I he makes it to the
GE I also think he will go down in flames in an embarrassing defeat.

(182,904 posts)The Iowa GOP went nutso Evangelical before Kansas or Texas or North Carolina and others.
Remember Santorum tied Romney for the Iowa win 4 years ago - both at 25%.
I think everyone stays in until Super Tuesday but I could be wrong.

(7,637 posts)I fear trump will be the nominee. I am also not as confident as some of my fellow democrats that he has no chance of winning. Lets face it, the vast majority of this country is uninformed. No matter what, the republican candidate will have 48 % of the votes to start with. Its decided on independent turnout. I am worried that after 8 years of a democrat being president, the ill-informed people will just vote GOP because they "want to give a chance to the other side".
For these reasons, I would not call it in the bag if Trump is the nominee. If we do not show up for vote, we could lose.

(27,315 posts)The ratio between likely and registered as seen in recent polls is silly (way too high). Now, hard to figure out who this favors in the polls, but we'll see soon enough.

Paul will probably be like his father and stick it out, at least until he has to get out so that he can run in the Senate primary in KY.
And Santorum is just a frothy mess and could be in it for the long run!!
