The FTD patients received more speeding tickets, ran more stop signs, were involved in more accidents, and had a significantly higher average speed than the controls (de Simonea, L. Kaplana, N. Patronasb, E.M. Wassermanna, J. Grafmana 2007).

Caregivers share in the responsibility for the safety of the person diagnosed and that of others who may be at risk if the person continues to drive when no longer safe. Caregivers need to excercise their own judgment, as well as heed the advice of their physician, when it comes to “taking away the keys.”

is that it has been rebuked hard, but allowed to continue due to faults in the jury system and tacit approval due to DU leaning toward Hillary Clinton support, that it emboldened the individuals participating in it to the point that they felt they could do no wrong.

Although it isn't dementia, I have recently retired at the age of 35 for a severe psychiatric disability. People see you on the outside as being alright and functional, but they don't see you when you are doing bad or when your issues inhibit your activities.

Mental conditions are hard because people who don't suffer from them have no idea how they impact every aspect of a person's life. Actually, I don't even fully get just how much my psychiatric condition impacts every aspect of my life. I can't even fully explain it to someone.

Losing your identity and your ability to work does a lot of damage to a person's self esteem. I used to work as a chemist for the federal government for a number of years. It was a job that I was proud of and my wife and kids were proud of too. You get a certain level of instant clout when you can tell someone that you're a scientist. When people ask your kids what their dad does for a living they can proudly say that he is a scientist. The same with my wife. Now, I'm just disabled. So when people ask what I do now I either lie to them or tell them I don't work because I'm disabled. Physically I'm in great condition. I look young for my age and I'm in great shape. So, when I tell people I'm too disabled to work they think I'm scamming the system. That goes from everyone from random strangers to family members - including my own spouse at times.

It's a touchy subject and I get it. It's hard to not care what others think about you. We are, after all, social animals.

Its a struggle. Do your best to surround yourself with other people in your similar situation. I go to the VA hospital almost daily for either appointments or just to hang out with other veterans who are going through what I'm going through. It helps a lot to have people around you who get it. I don't know if there is anything like that available for you or for civilians, but it can make all the difference in a person's life.

Being the curious little pain in the ass I am, I googled around a bit and found an interesting email address using the same moniker.

The coincidence is that the email address (gr8daze@<domain name> was attached to a domain registration in 2011, as the contact email address, for DUISNOTFORREALDEMOCRATS.COM registered under the auspices of People for Free Democracy in Washington State.

The poster of the same name denies ownership of this latest "parody of DU" site in a thread up at discussionist.

The same moniker also shows up at reddit with a few posts attacking Bernie Sanders.

Just coincidences. And innuendo. But I found it interesting.

I won't include links here as the information is available on the internet via the various Who Is services for domain registration services.

Oh, and a quick read of the "about us" page at said site currently in contention, reads like the whinings of a petulant 12-year-old after his mother grounded him for not doing his chores.

and confirms my suspicion that person as well as a few others are DU's actual malicious intruders. Somehow they made it past MIRT and have BECOME MIRT. I take that responsibility seriously and have been very mindful of not allowing biases to control my decisions when agreeing to ban someone.

I hate DU during primaries. I still remember the self-exile of Kephra for a couple of months when he couldn't take the constant swarms from one group of supporters against other supporters. He came back, but sadly he wasn't for this life much longer - and we lost him first to the ugly behavior here, and then when that settled down, we lost him for real.

Reading this thread is confusing for one doing light DU reading (the dynamic isn't confusing but the terms - what is a BMU for example?), and very sad. The term devolution dynamics comes to mind.
