http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2016/01/sheriff_bundy_meet_face_to_fac.htmlCRANE -- Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward, backed up by two other sheriffs, met face to face Thursday with protest leader Ammon Bundy to bring a peaceful end to a week long occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
Ward was accompanied by three rigs carrying heavily armed law enforcement officers.
The parley took place in the open, standing at the intersection of a state highway and the back route to the refuge. It was another in a series of twists and turns the past week that have drawn national and international attention to this sparsely populated high desert country.
Ward was encouraged to reach out directly to the militants at a town hall meeting Wednesday night in Burns that drew an estimated 400 people. Several speakers urged the sheriff to do just what he is doing Thursday, and several ranchers had volunteered to join him if needed to end the occupation.

Is the FBI going to track down those who sent death threats to the sheriff? And will there be federal charges for trespass, breaking and entering, etc against these y'allQaeda fools?
Btw - when will the feds arrest Bundy senior for nonpayment of the over 1million owed?

You or I would be dragged in or shot. They met an a 4 star restaurant last night. About now I hate how we are allowing them to dictate to the government.
They should be jailed or face the consequences if they refuse to go.

Includes a jail cell. If they're allowed to walk it's the biggest pile of crap I've seen.

Police have disconnected the electricity to a building in Frenchglen -- at the far end of the nature reserve -- to prevent militants from moving to a new facility, according to sources close to the investigation.
Frenchglen residents said they saw police disconnecting power from the Bureau of Land Management Fire Guard Station, which is on the south end of the reserve. The fire station is about 40 miles from the headquarters where members of the Bundy family and other militants have occupied buildings since Saturday.
Electricity remained on at the refuge, where protestors are using various bulidings including the museum and the bunkhouse
An operator at the Harney Electric Cooperative referred all calls to the Joint Information Center, where police and other officials have coordinated the response to the takeover.
